[Geons-users] GEONS vision

Steve,

Certainly. Here are some ideas for a company with 50000 users spread
across a few hundred offices. The headquarters has 10000 users, and
there are some regional offices of 100 to 1000 users, but many of the
local offices have only 5 to 50 users.

1. PBX system, where users can be administered from headquarters, and
SIP handsets can be plugged in at any office and "just work". Offices
need not have VoIP quality network connectivity to headquarters, and may
be disconnected intermittently.

2. Integrics will be releasing other work-flow based products based on
Geons in the future. These have not yet been chosen yet, but document
management and a ticketing system are ideas.

3. Customers will be able to create their own work-flow based products
by modifying the Geons templates and adding their own templates. Third
parties (folks like you) can also do this on a paid basis. In a distant
future version, it would be nice if Geons could manage the licensing of
third party code for you.

4. External code can be connected to the Geons server using the Geons
XML protocol to provide redundant/failover distributed storage,
authentication, validation, etc, etc. The external code can then
implement its own user interface.

Pricing is yet to be decided, but I'm thinking in terms of X
USD/EUR/GBP/etc per user per year, where is X is a fairly small number.
This would not include support. Integrics would provide support only to
a few key partners, which would then be free to offer support contracts
to whoever they like at whatever rates they wish.

The product will be very re-branding and white label friendly.

This is all vague at this point, and subject to change at any time!
