From acunningham at integrics.com Mon Dec 27 14:05:33 2010 From: acunningham at integrics.com (Alistair Cunningham) Date: Mon, 27 Dec 2010 14:05:33 +0000 Subject: [Geons-users] Replacement of sqlite with mongoDB Message-ID: <4D189D2D.7070005@integrics.com> All, With Enswitch 3.4 complete, development attention has turned to Geons 0.5 in the last few weeks. In particular, the following challenges need to be addressed: 1. We need to implement cloning and replication of databases between servers. 2. We need to address the slow write performance of sqlite. I've been investigating alternative databases that might save a lot of development effort. I first looked at CouchDB, before rejecting it due to its lack of support for dynamic parameters passed to views. I then looked at mongoDB, which looks ideal. Does anyone have any experience with mongoDB? Opinions both for an against it are welcome... -- Alistair Cunningham +1 888 468 3111 +44 20 799 39 799 http://integrics.com/
